I Recreated Harry Styles' Fine Line Album Art in Quarantine

As if my obsession with Harry Styles had not reached an all time high (or low) already, I decided there would be no better way to spend another week in quarantine than by becoming Harry himself. While I have always been inspired by his style (often incorporating it into my own), I have never fully embodied the British musician. So, when I couldn't stand to watch one more episode of Schitt's Creek, or play one more game of Life, I thought to myself: How can I get creative? What is something I can do with only what's around the house? What do I love most in the world (besides friends and family, obviously)?

Fashion and Harry Styles.

Styles' recent album, 'Fine Line,' is arguably different from his self-titled debut album in both sound and appearance; you know what I mean if you're a dedicated fan like myself. The 'Fine Line,' album art is wacky, juxtaposed and quite colorful. If you've ever met me, 'wacky,' 'juxtaposed,' and 'colorful,' do not describe me. How was I going to pull this off? It all started with the album cover, because if I could create the cover I could easily create the rest.

To begin, bed sheets and thumb tacks are key for a perfect backdrop. Luckily I have acquired a lot of bed sheets in an array of colors over the past few years from moving so much. I set up a makeshift studio in our home library. I opened all the windows, turned the brightness all the way up on our desktop, positioned my photographer (hey, mom) and changed the sheets and props for each respective shot. Next, were outfits. While I don't own custom Gucci, I do have a lot of clothes (and potato chip clips for tailoring each look). I invaded my mom's vintage jewelry collection, which completed my Gucci vision on a zero dollar budget. One curtain rod, a pile of laundry, a skating costume, 15 house plants, and two days later my project was complete.

I don't know if this is my saddest or proudest moment of quarantine (or life) thus far, but it fulfilled my desire to be creative and "productive." While my shoot was not perfect or professional, the end result is incredible with what I had to work with if I do say so myself. No dream is too big or vision too complex, not even becoming Harry Styles.
